Anna Maj digital arts, culture, media & communication studies expert; associate professor in the Chair of Cultural Studies and Digital Era Research, AGH University of Cracow, formerly associate professor at the Institute of Cultural Studies of the University of Silesia in Katowice, a Vice-Director of the Institute (2012-2019), and the Leader of New Media Art, Culture & Technology Research Centre (2025) of the University of Silesia, Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice and the Silesian Museum. Recently, the Curator of AI Space at the 8th Silesian Science Festival KATOWICE in the frame of the European Capital of Science Katowice 2024 and the coordinator of the cooperation between University of Silesia and Ars Electronica Linz. Author of two monographs: Media in Travel and Transformations of Knowledge in Cyberculture and about 90 articles, scientific editor of 11 multi-author monographs on new media communication, new media art & digital memories. Main research interests: new media, cyber arts, AI in cultural aspects, media anthropology, and digital memory.
