Dominik Ritszel

Dominik Ritszel is a filmmaker and visual artist working in experimental and documentary cinema. He graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice in 2013 with a degree in Printmaking and Graphic Arts. In 2020, he received a PhD in Fine Arts. He is the recipient of the Grand Prize in the Polish Experimental Film Competition at the 14th Short Waves Festival (2022), as well as the international Young European Artist Trieste Contemporanea Award (2015). He was a finalist for the Grey House Foundation Award (2014) and has received scholarships from the Polish Ministry of Culture and National Heritage (2017, 2025) and the Young Poland scholarship programme (2014). Ritszel has also served as curator of the Experimental Film section of the Ars Independent Festival. His work was recognized by Forbes 30 Under 30 Europe in the Arts category, where he was selected among the 30 honorees.
