Takuro Yonezawa

Takuro Yonezawa is an Associate Professor at the Graduate School of Engineering, Nagoya University, Japan. He received his Ph.D. in Media and Governance from Keio University in 2010. His research interests lie at the intersection of distributed systems, human–computer interaction, and sensor and actuator technologies. He has served as a technical coordinator for several smart city projects, including the FP7/NICT and Horizon 2020/NICT EU–Japan collaborative research projects ClouT and BigClouT, the NICT Social Big Data Project, and the MIC G-Space City Project. He is currently the principal investigator of a JST CREST project in the S5 Infrastructure Software Domain and a JST RISTEX project in the Social Isolation and Loneliness Prevention Domain, through which he is advancing research on the Internet of Realities. His awards include the IBM Ph.D. Fellowship Award in 2009, the IPSJ Yamashita SIG Research Awards in 2013 and 2019, and the IPSJ/IEEE Computer Society Young Computer Researcher Award in 2021.
